The State Office Team exists
to resource the mission of the local churches

This is the goal of your State Office Team, a group of committed, energetic and creative people whose mission is to serve the churches and the community. We believe that Churches of Christ have a strong future in SA and a valuable contribution to make to our society. Recent years have seen significant growth and development in a number of areas of church life and ministry, and much of that growth has been directly related to the work of the State Ministry Team. I commend these gifted people to you for prayer and financial support.

Greg Elsdon is the State Minister and Chief Executive Officer. Greg is responsible for the general oversight of the mission and the service of Churches of Christ in SA & NT and has a particular involvement in ministry and consultation services. You may find him working with ministers and churches negotiating ministry appointments, coordinating programmes of mentoring and spiritual direction, and much more.

Gavin Jones is the State Youth Minister, which sees him running training and developing young leaders, pastorally caring for and encouraging the youth leaders of our Churches and facilitating combined youth events such as camps and State Youth Games. Gavin also represents Churches of Christ on a number of interchurch committees and oversees childsafe training. Gavin has a real passion for seeing our young people engaged in authentic discipleship, and seeing our churches to take risks in reaching out to a generation of young people God has called us to teach.

Lyndall Simpson-Smith is the face of our organisation. She is the receptionist and so much more. She makes sure that accurate information is processed in an efficient and timely fashion and provides administrative assistance to all of the office team.

Ruth Telfer is the financial services officer. She keeps the financial records in order and is the most likely person to attend to the needs of the clients of the Building Extension Mutual Fund. On top of that she has a special role working with the WISE workgroup, editing and publishing all their publications.

Geoff Payne resources Churches, Ministry and Mission by taking care of the business end of things. As well as taking overall responsibility for the financial, property and business matters pertaining to Churches of Christ in SA & NT, he regularly assists treasurers, secretaries and ministers with issues relating to finance, payroll, tax, legal and property issues.
