"President Donald Trump has labelled any section of the news media that challenges his preferred version of truth as ‘fake news’. It is a direct challenge to major sections of the media establishment who have been shut out of White House briefings and refused access to ask questions. It is disruptive. We in the church too can justify our own jargon, tell our own stories, build walls around our communities, reward our own behaviours and live with our comfortable worldviews that all miss extraordinary opportunities for proclaiming and demonstrating the Good News and ‘Go’ of Jesus. Are we practicing the ‘Go, Good News’ or defending our comfortable version of fake news? Through examining text and telling of plenty of stories, Andrew Menzies will explore some of the biases and methods that we used that keep us trapped from sharing the liberating Good News of Jesus. Come ready to engage and imagine."
