Today our new Youth Ministry Coach, Adrian Blinkinsop joins the State Ministry Team.
Following James Bowden's conclusion in the role of State Youth Minister, we announced we will not be continuing the State Youth Minister role as it has been but instead split the role into two - Youth Events Coordinator and Youth Ministry Coach.
Adrian will work alongside Youth Events Coordinator, Carl Milne under the direction of Mission and Ministry Coordinator Mark Riessen to encourage and build up youth ministries across the state. Adrian will fulfill the role of Youth Ministry Coach 2 days a week.
Adrian brings over 25 years of experience in youth ministry working at local, state, national and international level encouraging and equipping youth ministries, mentoring and coaching leaders, developing and implementing programs for effective youth ministry engagement. Adrian was part of the catalyst in the development of State Youth Games in SA 21 years ago and has his youth ministry roots in Churches of Christ and Youth Vision SA.
Adrian has performed a similar role with Churches of Christ in SA in the past. He has great connection to and knowledge of our movement and already established youth ministries and an extensive awareness of youth culture in Australia today which will be valuable insight into developing and equipping our youth leaders.
Mark, Carl & Adrian will now form the nucleus of the newly reformed Youth Vision SA Executive team who along with key youth ministry representatives from our churches will bring new leadership and vision into youth ministry for Churches of Christ in SA & NT
The State Ministry Team are grateful for Adrian's enthusiasm and willingness to serve with Churches of Christ in SA & NT and the depth of the experience he brings to the team.

Last month we heard from visiting speakers Dean Phelan and Andrew Menzies talking about Kingdom Communities and how churches can facilitate a much broader imagination in facilitating a range of creative ways people can access the Kingdom of God.
They talked about a book they had co-authored called "Kingdom Communities: Shining the light of Christ through Faith, Hope & Love". Well that book is now published and available for purchase. See the link below to grab your copy.
Here's an endorsement from Mike Frost of Morling College;
"Read this book and I guarantee you’ll be deeply encouraged even before you finish the introduction! God is doing something new, breathing fresh life into his people, sending them out as Kingdom Communities, embedded in neighbourhoods right across the country. Andrew Menzies and Dean Phelan have got their finger on the pulse. Their book is not only full of stories from around Australia, it provides both the theological frame and the practical steps for launching a movement of Kingdom Communities wherever God has placed you."
SURRENDER Adelaide:18 Saints+Citizens | 12-14 October
"Set your hearts on things above, not on earthly things...and the Word became flesh and moved into the neighbourhood".
Consumerism and conflict, politics and power, fear and injustice mark the narrative of our world and our streets. Humanity was created from the dust of the land, yet God breathed His life into us - but have we lost connection to both? As we follow Jesus, how do we understand and balance the call to seek His kingdom coming in the now of our neighbourhoods and world, yet have faith and find hope in the promise of a creation made whole. Can we embody the way of Jesus now as citizens in our places and world, yet hold an eternal identity as saints?
