Check out our new leadership development programme - Sherpa. We'd love for you to join us in prayer as we prepare to launch very soon.
Sherpa is 12 month-long intentional discipleship formation program, created specifically for Churches of Christ in SA by Adrian Blenkinsop, Trav Johnson, and Nate Vawser. It involves 4 weekend retreats, with coaching/equipping that happens alongside those retreats. The first of these retreats is happening on the weekend of May 25 - 27th, at Middleton, with a group of 11 leaders from our churches.
The content of each retreat is based on exploring discipleship and leadership through the life and teachings of Jesus and the broader narrative of Scripture. One of the hopes of Sherpa is that its not a prescriptive resource, rather it provides a strong framework for action and reflection in a leaders own unique ministry context (ie: its not based on a one-size-fits-all approach), and it involves journeying with other leaders for the 12 months.
Would you pray for this first retreat; that strong relationships would be established, that there would be great sharing and growing as a team, and that our churches would be strengthened through the input into these leaders through Sherpa.
If you have any questions, please contact Adrian Blenkinsop at email@example.com

We have just celebrated with our wider community the true reason of Christmas. It was not a story from the past but a fact that God wants to be in relationship with us, His Children today.
God’s Love invites a response from us!
New Years’ are usually noisy and we all have plenty to say about how we want to change ourselves and who we want to “be”, filled with hope and promise.
As we resolve who we want to “be” together as Churches of Christ in this State let us recall Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on the wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary they will walk and not be faint”. May we do this, remembering we are in relationship with our Lord from what He has done for us, and that He will guide us to be His people in this world.
This year, let us reclaim together the voice we are given through being intentional in our relationship with each other, especially with our Lord.
In 2018 may we continue to grow as a Movement of Churches in Faith, Hope and Love, sharing God’s message for all.
Happy New Year!
Conference President, Churches of Christ SA & NT
As Joseph and Mary did!
Our civil world is demanding much of us as Joseph and Mary’s world did of them. As Herod demanded a reckoning of the people, we have also just been through a reckoning.
This year as we journey through Advent may we, who know the truth in Christ, God’s mystery hidden for all ages, revealed in Jesus, live as Mary and Joseph did with:
- Love As we continue to surrender our lives to our God - becoming servants of our Saviour.
- Joy Filled with awe and thanksgiving for the relationships we share with Angels, family, Jesus, the poor and rich, locals and strangers alike.
- Hope Experiencing God’s presence and promises in prayer, worship and life.
- Peace Being faithful and courageous, trusting in the Lord above all else and in all things.
- Immanuel Knowing when to hold fast to the traditions of our faith through the Word and when to trust in God when God’s actions break into our world to do a new thing! Praying as Mary did “I am the servant of the Lord. Let this happen to me as you say!” Luke 1:38
May we, who have lived with the story of Christmas all our lives, be recaptured by God’s desire to break into our lives and world.
May we know the Son of God who came to be with us, know us and show us how to live as witnesses and participants to God’s actions in our lives and our world.
May you meet again the Christ Child as you gather this Christmas, bringing yourselves and your gifts to his manger.
May we all bow the knee and proclaim “our Lord and our Saviour; Not my will but yours be done!”
Merry Christmas and may we have a Happy New Year!
