We are excited to be able to welcome our new Business Manager, Mathew Green to the State Team for Churches of Christ SA & NT.
He has commenced with us on a part-time basis until the end of June and then will be full-time in our office from the beginning of July. He is currently still concluding his previous position as Finance & ICT Manager at the Asthma Foundation SA.
Mathew is the treasurer and an elder at the Mt Barker Presbyterian Church. He is married with 8 children.
Mathew commenced as the Business Manager with the Churches of Christ State Office last week. He will work closely with Gillian in managing the financial aspects of Churches of Christ SA & NT Inc. Mathew will also have oversight of operational and governance process.
We look forward to what Mathew has to contribute to our new State Team.
Wayne Shepherd has recently joined our State Ministry team as the Minister to Ministers alongside Graeme Rogerson.
Wayne is the minister at Hampstead Gardens Church of Christ in a part time capacity and will be in this role one day per week with responsibilities in pastorally caring for ministers of our churches and their families. We celebrate the broad ministry experience Wayne brings to the role and look forward to the contribution he will make to the ministry the State team offers to churches.
Today our new Youth Ministry Coach, Adrian Blinkinsop joins the State Ministry Team.
Following James Bowden's conclusion in the role of State Youth Minister, we announced we will not be continuing the State Youth Minister role as it has been but instead split the role into two - Youth Events Coordinator and Youth Ministry Coach.
Adrian will work alongside Youth Events Coordinator, Carl Milne under the direction of Mission and Ministry Coordinator Mark Riessen to encourage and build up youth ministries across the state. Adrian will fulfill the role of Youth Ministry Coach 2 days a week.
Adrian brings over 25 years of experience in youth ministry working at local, state, national and international level encouraging and equipping youth ministries, mentoring and coaching leaders, developing and implementing programs for effective youth ministry engagement. Adrian was part of the catalyst in the development of State Youth Games in SA 21 years ago and has his youth ministry roots in Churches of Christ and Youth Vision SA.
Adrian has performed a similar role with Churches of Christ in SA in the past. He has great connection to and knowledge of our movement and already established youth ministries and an extensive awareness of youth culture in Australia today which will be valuable insight into developing and equipping our youth leaders.
Mark, Carl & Adrian will now form the nucleus of the newly reformed Youth Vision SA Executive team who along with key youth ministry representatives from our churches will bring new leadership and vision into youth ministry for Churches of Christ in SA & NT
The State Ministry Team are grateful for Adrian's enthusiasm and willingness to serve with Churches of Christ in SA & NT and the depth of the experience he brings to the team.

Dear Christian Friends,
I write to invite you to meet with Derek Linsell, the facilitator of the review of South Australian Churches of Christ. He is keen to hear from the people of our churches, and I urge you be at one of these sessions, as we consider the future of Churches of Christ. Some of you were part of the first two groups that kicked off the review. You are welcome to one of these sessions too.
The first session will be at Brighton Church of Christ at 7.30pm on Wednesday 3rd May.
The second session will be at Salisbury East Church of Christ at 7.30pm on Thursday 4th May.
To give some idea of numbers to set up for, can you please RSVP to Doug Walladge on firstname.lastname@example.org by April 30th, or telephone 8443 7572.
At the State Board meeting on April 7th, Greg Elsdon tendered a letter of resignation as Interim State Minister of Churches of Christ in SA & NT with effect at the end of August 2017.
State Board accepted this with regret, understanding the situation for Greg and therefore being supportive of this move.
Early last year Greg indicated that he would take Long Service Leave in 2017. The date of conclusion gives the required three months’ notice following this leave.
In the final weeks Greg will focus on having everything in good shape for the transition to new leadership.
State Board has appointed Barry Grear and Doug Walladge to oversee the process of recruiting a suitable person to support our Churches, especially through this time of review and change.
